My mum basically taught I and my siblings how to manage cough and fever without making use of medicines.
When you are having cough , all you need to do to reduce it , is to put a water in the kettle and boil it,until its get hot but not too hot.
Now, when you are done boiling you pour this hot water into a cup and drink it slowly as it maybe to hot and burn your throat and chest.
As you drink the hot water you willl feel a little bit relieved and you won't cough anymore for some time, it's a temporary treatment incase you dont have drugs at home or cough syrup. Hot water is actually a first aid treatment for cough.
Now as for fever ,what my mum does is this, she would still use hot water but this case is different has you will need a small towel.
So now,she will soak the small towel into the hot water ,make sure it's well soaked and she will now start using this towel to dress our bodies from our face down to our legs. This normally helps to cool down the body temperature . You need to dress the body carefully so that the fever can go down immediately and the person you are dressing will feel relieved and relaxed.
My mum also normally cook herbs in pot and give to us to drink when we have most especially fever to suppress it and have a lower body temperature.
As for fever, you can also bath with warm water as well and your body will also calm down for some time.
Those where the remedies my mum normally use for us and it really helped, you can also try it out and see for yourself.
Please note that this remedies are mostly temporary so once you notice the cough and fever is getting out hand, it is better to visit the pharmacy or see your doctor.
