February came, and with its soft yet strong hands, knocked on my door, bringing with it all its surprises. In those 28 days, there were good memories that made me smile, and laugh and are now etched in my mind. February has come to an end, and we are two months into 2025. Now, it’s time to look back and reflect on my progress so far. Do you know the importance of goal setting? Are you moving closer to your goals, or are you some steps behind? On the first day of the year, I promised myself to make this year better than the previous years. To make it more serious, I wrote my goals down. Not in just any book, but in my diary. My diary is very important to me, so writing my goals for the year in it was a big deal.
The importance of goal setting cannot be overstated. It clears distractions, helping us stay focused and motivated. Last month, there were days when I felt weak and wanted to bypass my objectives, but then I remembered that somewhere my goals were waiting to be ticked, so I stood up, buckled my shoes, and got it done with. I might have realized this late, but before setting goals, the first step is to know yourself. Ask yourself these questions; what works best for you? What works better for you: setting big, long-term goals or breaking them down into smaller, shorter-term goals. I realized that whenever I made long-term goals, at the middle of the journey, I drifted away and forgot about it. In this post, I’ll reflect on my progress in 2024. Am I fulfilling my New Year resolutions so far?
As I mentioned above, I do well with short-term goals. For the month of February, one of my goals was to make 400 HP. The first step I took was to participate in HPUD. On the first day of the month, I powered up 10 hive. To achieve my HP goals, I set about half of the posts I made in February to 100% Hive Power. That way, I was able to achieve my goals faster than I expected. I started the month with 7281 HP and ended with 7800 HP. I achieved 519 HP- 119 more. I had plans to increase my HBD savings, but I couldn’t do that because I had to buy a new device. This month, I have so many bills to settle, and I don’t think I’ll be able to achieve that goal this year.
Moving on to my next goal, I had aimed to post every single day of the month. I'm excited to say that I've successfully maintained this daily posting habit for about six months now and it is all thanks to @hopestylist for inspiring me to stay consistent and committed to this goal. I owe Hopestylist for the constant reminders, support, and encouragement. Looking back, last year, I wasn’t always motivated to write a post every day. I was busy with school- assignments, classes, tests, presentations, and exams. I felt posting every day was impossible, but the past 6 months have made me realize that it is very possible to post every day. You just need to know yourself, add it to your goals, and stand strong. Posting very early has helped me stand strong. More importantly, get yourself an accountability partner- someone who shares the same goals as you- someone who is ready to push their limits.
I achieved all the goals I set, except one: my engagement. I had aimed to make a certain number of comments in different communities last month. Since I was on vacation, I thought it would be easier to achieve this goal. Although I tried, I didn't meet my target. Now that I've resumed school, I know it will be even more challenging to achieve my engagement goals. Nevertheless, I'm still going to put in the effort.
