I’m actually really bad at remembering things especially if it has nothing to do with academics but these particular memories came rushing to mind without even doing a lot of thinking. Even though they make me cringe, I’ll still share anyway.
I’ll never forget that particular day I escaped a kidnap. I was in my final year at the University and had traveled to my study area for data collection with my colleague. We couldn’t find means to go back so I allowed my colleague to leave with the last motorbike available whiles I agreed to walk.(I don’t know what I was thinking). Just when I was about to sit down, a motorbike stopped in front of me and offered me a ride. That’s when I was told I had been walking in a famous kidnap and dangerous spot for hours.
I’ll never forget that day when I made a whole plan to erase someone’s memories. Come on, don’t judge me, I was a kid. I felt like he knew too much about me and at a point, it felt like I was bothering him. I also felt like I was too accessible and available to him. I watched a particular movie about how mermaids could erase memories so I visited the beach to find out how I could become a mermaid. Don’t laugh, I was serious at that time. Now that I think of it, I feel really embarrassed because what is this?
I’ll never forget my first time on a ship. I was very little and I was traveling with my family. It was a little different because we were used to taking flights. It was a lovely experience and as someone who likes being in a moving vehicle or watercraft, I had the best time ever. I remember how disappointed I was when we arrived at our destination. This is definitely something I’ll do over and over again with my future family.
I’ll never forget this embarrassing day where Karma visited me sooner than I thought. I went for this vacation classes and as a nerd at that time, I really wanted nothing to do with friends. Come on, I was marrying my books so I could give birth to success. There was this guy trying to get my attention and I was also trying my best to stay away from him. One of the days, he asked me out in front of everyone. Oh he knelt down and that caught a lot of attention. Just when I took a step to walk out on him, I tripped and fell.
I’ll never forget when I had to manage my family’s finances. It was Covid 19 time and my dad and brothers couldn’t return from their trip because of the lockdown and unfortunately, my mom had been admitted at the hospital. It was even worse when I had to be in certain meetings on behalf of my parents. I looked so lost in all of these meetings but I survived at last.
I’m actually laughing right now because eiii! I’ve really been through a lot. Let me get myself some chilled Malta Guinness to pamper myself tonight.
