My came to the UAE for a 2-week visit, and tough we kind of prepared for it, we also were not prepared for it. 😅 My sister had limited time since she was to stay with my family in Abu Dhabi. So we grouped our Dubai escapade on her first 2 days here, and on her 2nd to the last day.
We randomly asked Gemini to suggest places we can visit in Dubai that would not break the bank. LOL.

Day 1: Modern Marvels & Marina Views
Morning (Ibn Battuta & Dubai Marina):
- Start at Ibn Battuta Metro Station. Explore Ibn Battuta Mall, known for its stunning themed courts reflecting the travels of the famous explorer. Even if you don't shop, the architecture is worth seeing.
- "Take the Red Line towards ""UAE Exchange"" and get off at ""Sobha Realty (Dubai Marina)"" station."
- Walk along Dubai Marina Walk. Enjoy the views of the skyscrapers, yachts, and the vibrant atmosphere. This area provides fantastic photo opportunities, especially along the waterfront, without any entrance fees.
Tip: Walk along the marina towards JBR, the views are amazing.
Evening (Dubai Mall & Fountain Show):
- "Take the Red Line from ""DMCC"" metro station to ""Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall"" station."
- Explore the Dubai Mall (even window shopping is an experience).
Head outside the mall to witness the free Dubai Fountain Show. This is a must-see!
Tip: Find a good viewing spot along the waterfront promenade for unobstructed photos.
We kinda followed this, but we went straight to Atlantis, The Palm after Jumeirah Beach. We did not go to Dubai Mall on Day 1.
Day 2: Morning (Old Dubai - Creek Area)
8:30 AM - 9:30 AM: Travel to Al Ras station via the Red and Green Lines.
9:30 AM - 11:30 AM: Dubai Gold Souk and Spice Souk (2 hours).
11:30 AM - 12:30 PM: Abra ride across Dubai Creek (1 hour).
Afternoon (Dubai Garden Glow & Zabeel Park):
12:30 PM - 1:30PM: Travel to max(landmark) metro station.
1:30 PM - 3:30 PM: Explore Zabeel park.
3:30PM - 6:00PM: Visit Dubai Garden Glow located in Zabeel park. (This is a paid attraction, check opening times.)
6:00PM - 7:00PM: View Dubai frame from Zabeel park.
7:00PM Onwards: Metro ride along Sheikh Zayed Road for evening views.
We actually were only able to go to the Old Dubai, Dubai Gold Souk on Day 2. We managed to get to Dubai Museum of the Future on the day before my sister left.
