While I was in school, my morning routine was more of a simple one.
I usually woke up really early. I'm talking between 3am and 4am. When I wake up, the first thing I do is to reach for my phone and check my messages. I check my messaging apps and my email.
This is because I'm usually eager to check for what I missed while I was asleep. It's just this feeling I have that something important may have happened while I was asleep.
After checking my phone for messages and even missed calls, I go on to do some academic activities. I do some assignments or I read. The reason is because that time of the morning is mostly calm and quiet. My brain is fresh in that moment. So it's the perfect time to read, understand, and easily assimilate. It's also the time to do assignments without getting exhausted since I'm energized.
The funny thing is that I usually end up rushing to class. Despite waking up so early, somehow I end up running to class because I'm late. Maybe the reason is because I just want to take my time to prepare. I take too much time and it results in lateness.
Well, I love my mornings quiet. I just want my mornings calm and serene. This may be one of the reasons why I'm slow in getting my day started and as a result I go late to classes.
My morning routine is actually crucial to how the rest of my day would pan out. When I do academic stuff in the morning, it takes a lot off my plate because I get really busy during the day. For example, after studying in the morning, I know I can go the rest of the day without reading because I'm usually busy with classes or something else.
This is has helped me catch up with the academic work before they pile up. At the end of the day, when I get back home tired and exhausted, I just go to bed knowing that I'll wake up early the next morning to do important academic work.
