This picture was taken on the day of our first Marketing Department Week or let me just say student week as most people called it then, that day was supposed to be all about fun and relaxation, we had been told that there wouldn’t be any class, so I was already in full enjoyment mode, the plan was simple , go to the sports complex, have fun, eat, gist, and just catch vibes with my friends.
I went there with my then best friend in school, and we met up with a few of our classmates, i even invited two other people to join us, though one of them had some things to sort out in school, Everything was going smoothly , laughter, gist, music, and the sweet kind of campus vibe that just makes you forget your worries and then boom just like that a message dropped on the class platform from the course rep that We have Business Mathematics test.
Omoooo..,... You can just imagine the kind of shock that ran through everyone, on a normal day, we were not even supposed to have any class, talk less of a test, but the lecturer insisted that anyone who missed it would get a carryover, I remember just standing there, confused and frustrated, I was in total party mode ,you know that kind of I left my books at home kind of feeling and now they were talking about mathematics? Omo my brain just automatically froze.
That is actually the moment the picture was taken, if you look at it well, you will see me standing and probably thinking about my life, because I knew I was not ready for that test at all, and this was sometimes in ND1 , Meanwhile, my friend was laughing in the picture because she already spotted the camera person and decided to just pose, Me, I was already holding my pen, looking like someone calculating how to escape this sudden test wahala.
Even though that moment was stressful, the day still turned out to be fun, after the test or maybe we didn’t even write it, I can’t fully remember now we all went back to the sports complex, the vibe picked up again, that was actually the first day I met @quduus1 and maybe also @burlarj though my memory is a bit hazy on that part, but what I clearly remember is how we laughed, danced, ate, and just had a really good time.
And by the end of the day, all the earlier stress had vanished, we all left together, talking about how the lecturer almost ruined our fun, but in the end, it became one of those unforgettable school memories, yeah.... we parted ways at the bus stop, still smiling and tired but happy.
Looking at that picture now, I can’t help but laugh, It reminds me of how unpredictable campus life could be one minute you are vibing, the next minute you are thinking about a mathematics test that you did not prepare for, But that is just the beauty of it all ,I mean the chaos and fun all mixed together in one day.
