Have you had to walk away from a friendship?.

in ThoughtfulDailyPost5 months ago

Waoh this week's Thoughtful Thursday prompt #4 is important into our lives and livelihood. This guarantees deeper personal reflections on how far one has been dealt with. Either having been well received, treated or rejected by friends. This transcends even in the relationships between relatives within our families.

I'm that kind of a person that has been caring for others, carrying everyone along, wanting and walking for the very best results to make better the situations i find others both friends and relatives without even thinking of what i can benefit or the results i can get.

Over the years my main objective is for friends to be happy, relaxed and be fulfiled. It has been very hard for me to withdraw from friends even when their characters are hurting me, i have given and given till nothing is remaining for my humble safe most times.

To say it all, it has been painful and affecting my inner peace of mind, but i have had no will power to withdraw from such friends. I keep showing up my support for them. I know them one after the other and how they have been treating me against my choices but the ability to drop them totally has not been there within me.

Most times, people carefully take advantage of someone else without caring about the impact of their negative characters, the effect on their personality or peace of mind. Many wants some one else to keep giving to them without giving back to you.

A complete and perfect friendship is give and take. It becomes very uncomfortable if one person is only giving. Others are just at the receiving end.

I have been a victim, this post to me is a kind of deliverance as i read and understand how those affected had been able to liberate themselves from this hook and work away from such bondages.

I had a friend that is so bent on using others and dumping them. I liked her so much ever since we became friends. She tells me everything, i keep giving counciling and support financially as i can but i noticed she never appreciated me or supports me. It came to a climax when she bought some clothings from me and was paying back on installmental bases. Suddenly she refused to pay and started denying the unpaid balance, saying she has paid all. When in my account records so much money has been left unpaid.

Hehe 😔😔, i was fully surprised that she could say that. I brought out my account records showing her unfinished payment. She began exchanging nasty words with me. I was terribly upset, infuriated with anger, feeling cheated, feeling used yet she felt very indifferent. There and then i canciled everything about her in my life. Walked away and far away.

This was a very close friend of so many years, we knew each other during our university days, got married, have children yet she was still able to plan on how to swindle my money. I took this matter to many other elderly people to settle, but nothing much was realize from it.

In conclusion,

I totally gave up on her, distanced myself from her and the friendship, it's a shocking and unexpected situation for me for a very long time, i have kept on thinking about it, asking myself what had happened to her to be able to have totally denied a documented evidence that way. After some time my family left that city and relocated to another city. We have never seen each other for more than twenty years now. We don't call each other either. Our friendship has ended.

That behavior drained my inner peace then but i have been able to forget it, you know time heals all wounds. I have moved on, but very careful choosing my friends and have been able to set my limits.

I therefore invite my friends @chigold, @ebonymama to come and participate in this week's, thoughtful Thursday prompt #4 on this topic;

"Have you had to walk away from a friendship to preserve your inner peace? Describe the factors and reflections that impacted this decision."

Thank you sir, that will be done by God's grace.

It's never a celebration. When those we thought were like family, do things to make us remove them from our lives. I have experienced these same issues in life... In the end... what matters is that you did the best you could. As my Mom always used to tell me when I was younger... If you can look in the mirror each night before bed without any regrets... You are living right. I thank you for another wonderful post, dear soul.

Love and Light...
