Greek round of the World Rally Championship has started today with the shakedown and the super special stage in the city of Athens. We had something similar in 2023 and these kind of stages are very attractive for the fans because there can be up to 100 000 people beside the roads of the special stage.
But lets get back to the shakedown which you could see LIVE on the link I posted here yesterday evening. Japanese driver Takamoto Katsuta posted the fastest time and I saw that WRC1 crews did only two passes on the shakedown and they are obligatory to three passes on it. I guess that FIA decided to let them go with two passes on that rough Greek gravel roads to save the tires for later because you can use the same tires from shakedown during the rally also.
Yeah, Katsuta (Toyota) posted fastest time in front of the two Hyundai drivers: Thierry Neuville and Ott Tanak.
This evening there was mentioned super special stage with Ott Tanak (Hyundai) and Seb Ogier (Toyota) posting identical time and this way both leading the rally at this point of event. Katsuta was 3rd fastest for Toyota while Adrien Fourmaux (Hyundai) and Thierry Neuville (Toyota) finished 4th and 5th.
Real action starts tomorrow and you know how it must be: let the best win - as always...
