Škoda Fabia Rally2 car was car to beat for almost a decade with various phases of the machinery through the years. Their RS Rally2 model of Fabia was also very good and tough car for every surface but from last season there is a new winner in WRC2 category - Toyota Yaris Rally2.
Sami Pajari took WRC2 title with that car last season and this year they just continued the same was as a year before. Although Citroen C3 Rally2 took the victory at Monte Carlo Rallye in WRC2 category, it was Toyota of Oliver Solberg which dominated the class at Rally Sweden and Safari Rally Kenya until some problems hit the Toyota's of Solberg, Kajetanowicz and Jan Solans.
That was enough for Škoda Motorsport department to homologate and put on sale newly developed parts for engine (exhaust particularly) and gravel suspension to help the car to be on track against the opposition.
Citroen was always super fast on tarmac but Škoda was always the most reliable car in WRC2 and that's what they count on. The parts will be available for Rally Portugal, first European gravel event of the season.
