Ott Tanak leads WRC Safari Rally Kenya 2025 after short day one

in Rally5 days ago

Hi, friends!

Two short super special stages were on the program today but we already saw how tough these roads are, full of roughness or mad bath on the other hand. Yeah, that's why this event is part of World Rally Championship.

We already saw today first big problem of the rally - Adrien Fourmaux had to stop on the road section ahead of special stage two. Even with all the help of spectators and their pushing, he couldn't start the engine because of the electrical problem.

All the other top guys pushed to the maximum today with Estonian Ott Tanak leading the field in his Hyundai i20 Rally1 ahead of Japanese Toyota protegee Takamoto Katsuta and M-Sport Ford's Gregoire Munster. I must admit that I was pleasantly surprised with Munster's performance today and if he will keep his head cool, this could be another promising result for him.

Two next days are full of racing kms. I never saw this big rally with close to 400km of racing part and another apprx 1000km of liaison. This will be demanding for drivers and machinery.
Let the best win - as always...
