Kalle Rovanpera leads WRC Rally Islas de Canarias after day one

in Rallyyesterday

Hi, friends!

I don't remember when was the last time that some driver won all the special stages of complete day of the rally. Double World Rally champion Kalle Rovanpera did that today at WRC Islas de Canarias, new round of the World Rally Championship, and until 2024 regular round of European series.

Overall, it was full domination of Toyota drivers with Rovanpera leading in front of eight-time WRC champion Seb Ogier and current championship leader Elfyn Evans in 3rd place.

Hyundai drivers struggled a lot today with only Adrien Fourmaux doing good (just to remind you that he won that rally in 2020 when driving in European Rally Championship) but he had very bad time at last special stage of the day when he lost his place to his team mates Thierry Neuville and Ott Tanak.

M-Sport Ford drivers Gregoire Munster and Joshua McErlean struggled a lot but Munster kept in top 10 with 9th place overall.

Event is still very long and tomorrow is full of action. Let the best win - as always...
