Hi, friends!
WRC2 regular Nikolay Gryazin (Škoda) decided to add European Rally Championship to his 2025 program just to have more racing miles this year because, as you know, training is everything. And in motorsport, there is only one thing that counts - time behind a steering wheel. Drivers must have testing sessions or regularly compete. The worst thing is to be out of the car for a longer time and then sit in the car and try to perform at their best. That just doesn't function.
Yeah, Gryazin knows that and that's why he competes regularly. He is also a very nice guy, we met him at this year's Monte Carlo Rallye and we are talking about very normal person with who you enjoy to talk.
So he posted the fastest time at qualifying stage and this evening, he was fastest at short city super special stage full of hairpins and donuts which are not easy to drive. Super fast French ace Stephane Lefebvfre (Hyundai) posted 2nd fastest time at super special stage while Mads Ostberg was 3rd fastest in Citroen C3 Rally2.
I was impressed with early pace of Jos Verstappen (father of Formula One ace and current champion) who was 4th overall after SSS.
Tomorrow starts real action and you know how I say: let the best win - as always...
