Hi, friends!
It was really a tough day today for Hyundai drivers at Safari Rally Kenya but it
is well known that this event is super tough for men/women and machines because of nature of roads and changeable conditions.
Hyundai was never a winning car at Safari and on the other hand, Toyota won all editions of rally in newer history. I guess that this could easily be the case this yeae as well. Ott Tanak (Hyundai) was in command today but at one point, oil leak destroyed his day plus he had to finish the day without one driveshaft (just le we did at CER 2023). He is currently 3rd overall with gap of 55s to the leader.
Championship leader Elfyn Evans (Toyota) has the strongest mindset at first part of season and that counts big in this sport. This means he leads the rally at this point but his lead is slim, only 7.7s in front of team mate Kalle Rovanpera.
Current World Rally champion Thierry Neuville is in 4th place over minute and half behind a leader. I would say that it is still early to predict anything because we still have Saturday and Sunday and conditions are extremely difficult.
Let the best win - as always...
