Hi, friends!
Current World Rally champion Thierry Neuville from Belgium started to make his name through Intercontinental Rally Challenge, series made by Eurosport Events which merged later with European Rally Championship. And I can tell you that IRC was better then WRC in a days. So much good events, manufacturers with S2000 machinery (atmospheric engines, 4WD, sequential gearboxes etc.) and good drivers, it was enjoyable to follow the rallies.
Yeah, that's where Neuville made a name of himself, and after that he became a works driver of Citroen and M-Sport Ford. His single season at M-Sport with numerous podium finishes brought him a seat at Hyundai, back then a newly (re)joined manufacturer with their i20 WRC. And that was it. Their mutual journey still lasts and the top of it was his, and Hyundai's only driver's crown in 2024.
He still drives for them and in the meantime he formed his own team which run some cars in European Rally Championship with Stephane Lefebvre as a driver. Great stuff.
This documentary video is three years old which means from before his crown days, but it is nice to see what kind of machinery he has at his home garage.
Please enjoy...
