Hi, friends!
Oliver Solberg is still a teenager but he has probably the best mentor in the World - his own father Petter Solberg who won the World Rally Championship crown with Subaru in 2003.
He had his WRC debut at Arctic Rally Finland in February and really impressed whole rallying world with his bravery and determination to be the best around.
Ok, he was in the Hyundai's satellite team called 2C Competition but I guess that they have the same settings and latest evolution of the car as the works team.
Oliver is already a works driver but this season he has a contract to drive in Rally2 class with occasional drives in Rally1 class which means WRC car.
We knew how good he could be at gravel and snow because he is Scandinavian but tarmac seems to be unexplored territory for him.
He started good at Sanremo Rally in Italy with 4th best time at special stage 2 but later he crashed out and ripped the wheel off. That means retirement for him from the rally.
It is not an easy job for driver to fight against top Italian drivers as I said numerous times - Italians are super fast drivers and only because of lack of the money, they don't have the drivers in the WRC.
Oliver Solberg published an onboard rally video from that special stage two on his YouTube page.
Watch the video and enjoy the teenager's drive...
