Hace tiempo que en casa hemos tenido la idea de renovar o adquirir algunos electrodomésticos que necesitamos, algunos están muy viejos y aunque funcionan bien, sabemos que en algún momento deben ser reemplazados, sin embargo obviamente una cosa es tener la intención y otra muy diferente es poder hacerlo realmente, al menos de forma inmediata, pero siempre viene bien ir preguntando precios en las tiendas, en primer lugar para ir armando un presupuesto, y en segundo lugar porque, tal como me dijo una persona que aprecio una vez, es bueno ir visualizando todo aquello a lo que aspiras. Se cree que todo aquello que deseas está allí en alguna parte del universo, así que lo que resta es visualizarlo y desde luego, trabajar para poder obtenerlo.
For some time now, we've been thinking about replacing or buying some appliances at home. Some are quite old, and although they still work fine, we know they'll eventually need replacing. However, obviously, having the intention is one thing, but actually being able to do it, at least not immediately, is quite another. It's always a good idea to start asking about prices at stores, firstly to put together a budget, and secondly because, as someone I care about once told me, it's good to visualize everything you aspire to. It's believed that everything you desire is out there somewhere in the universe, so all that's left is to visualize it and, of course, work to achieve it.
Para ello decidí empezar por una tienda de electrodomésticos y demás artículos para el hogar que ha ido adquiriendo cada vez más popularidad en mi país (Venezuela) esta tienda se llama Damasco o Da+co, como dice su logo, y es realmente grande, aunque cada sucursal cuenta con espacios diferentes, unos más grandes y otros más pequeños. Yo jamás había ido allí antes, así que sentí curiosidad de ver que había, sin embargo fui con un poco de recelo porque en una ocasión vi un video de una chica que se estaba quejando de que le habían vendido un televisor que no funcionaba y luego no quisieron reconocer la garantía 😲, lo mismo he visto de tiendas Daka 😒.
To do this, I decided to start with an appliance and home goods store that has been gaining popularity in my country (Venezuela). This store is called Damasco, or Da+co, as its logo says, and it's really big, although each branch has different layouts, some larger and some smaller. I had never been there before, so I was curious to see what they had. However, I went with some apprehension because I once saw a video of a girl complaining that they had sold her a TV that didn't work and then refused to honor the warranty 😲. I've seen the same thing happen with Daka stores 😒.
Como ustedes pueden notar en las fotografías el lugar está lleno con muchos productos y diferentes opciones para elegir, los precios de verdad que son muy accesibles y además cuentan con un sistema de financiamiento que, a pesar de que yo no lo uso, se ha popularizado mucho en el país, en este sistemas las personas pueden, mediante una aplicación, pagar los productos en cuotas fraccionadas y sin intereses, siempre y cuando la tienda esté afiliada.
As you can see in the photos, the place is full of many products and different options to choose from. The prices are really affordable, and they also have a financing system that, although I don't use it, has become very popular in the country. In this system, people can pay for products in installments and without interest through an application, as long as the store is affiliated.
Una de las cosas que nos gustaría tener en casa desde hace tiempo es una freidora de aire, en primer lugar porque es una opción saludable para preparar los alimentos y que queden con esa textura deliciosa que otorgan las frituras, y en segundo lugar porque además también ahorra tiempo al cocinar. En esta tienda tenían algunas opciones, siendo la más económica una con la marca de la tienda, estaba en 70 $, pero enseguida mi hermana y yo descubrimos una opción que nos gustó mucho más y que nos vendría mejor, ya que a mi hermana le gusta mucho hornear (como buena chef pastelera que es 🤗) esta opción (la de la foto de abajo) nos ofrece por 280 $ un horno eléctrico que además cumple la función de freidora de aire y deshidratación de alimentos, tiene un tamaño considerable y de verdad que nos pareció muy practico. Ya habíamos visto uno así en al rededor de 350 y hasta 400 $ en otras tiendas.
One of the things we've wanted at home for a while is an air fryer. First, because it's a healthy way to prepare food and give it that delicious fried texture, and second, because it also saves cooking time. This store had a few options, the cheapest being a store brand model for $70. But my sister and I quickly discovered an option we liked much better and that would suit us better, since my sister loves to bake (as the talented pastry chef she is 🤗). This option (the one in the photo below) offers an electric oven for $280 that also functions as an air fryer and food dehydrator. It's a good size, and we found it really practical. We had seen similar models for around $350 or even $400 in other stores.
En casa necesitamos una lavadora y me enamoré de estas que vi en la tienda porque siempre me han gustado las lavadores de carga frontal, sin embargo obviamente este modelo es mucho más costoso, más o menos 700 $ pero hay opciones mucho más económicas que cuentan con centrifugadora a 350 o incluso 250 $, y si uno cuenta con el sistema de financiamiento es mucho más accesible.
At home we need a washing machine and I fell in love with these ones I saw in the store because I've always liked front-loading washing machines. However, obviously this model is much more expensive, around $700, but there are much cheaper options that include a spin dryer for $350 or even $250, and if you have a financing plan, it's much more accessible.
Y algo que definitivamente siempre he querido son esas licuadoras, como dirían en mi país "todo terreno" es decir, que sirven para triturar hielo y hasta cosas calientes. Por lo general ellas suelen ser mucho más costosas que las convencionales, pero la tienda ofrece una opción con marca blanca (osea la marca de la tienda) a solo 130 y hasta 110 $, ahora solo falta ver algunas reviews para comprobar si vale la pena y si la marca realmente es buena, si ofrecen productos de buena calidad.
And something I've definitely always wanted are those all-terrain blenders, the kind that can crush ice and even hot things. They're usually much more expensive than conventional blenders, but the store offers a store brand option (their own brand) for only $130 and even $110. Now I just need to see some reviews to see if it's worth it and if the brand is really good, if they offer good quality products.
En fin, por ahora solo estoy analizando y buscando alternativas pero Dios mediante en algún momento podré tener el dinero para comprar al menos algo de lo que necesitamos en casa.
