Unpleasant experiences (Esp/Eng)

Volví a Wulmart Center, esta vez con un propósito diferente, antes fue para celebrar el cumpleaños de mi ahijado y ahora quería compartir un almuerzo con mi esposo, debido a que justamente en esta fecha, hace cinco años, unimos nuestros destinos. Decidimos repetir la combinación que degustamos aquel día, pensando que sería igual de satisfactoria.

I went back to Wulmart Center, this time with a different purpose, before it was to celebrate my godson's birthday and now I wanted to share a lunch with my husband, because precisely on this date, five years ago, we joined our destinies. We decided to repeat the combination we tasted that day, thinking it would be just as satisfying.

Sin embargo, esta experiencia resultó muy distinta a la anterior. Si bien volvimos a pedir un pollo a la brasa, el que nos sirvieron estaba lejos de parecerse al que trajeron a nuestra mesa la primera vez que visitamos este lugar, además, el único refresco disponible para esta combinación era de parchita, un sabor que me resulta desagradable.

However, this experience turned out to be very different from the previous one. Although we ordered a grilled chicken again, the one we were served was far from the one brought to our table the first time we visited this place, and the only soft drink available for this combination was parchita, a taste that I find unpleasant.

Siempre he sido partidaria de visitar un establecimiento en varias ocasiones para comprobar si la atención y el sabor de la comida se mantienen, de allí que este tipo de decepciones no me sorprenden, lo que llama la atención es el poco tiempo transcurrido entre una visita y otra. Se presentó una demora que no comprendí, no habían muchos comensales en ese momento y, además, los pollos en brasa estaban listos desde hace rato.

I have always been in favor of visiting an establishment several times to check if the attention and taste of the food are maintained, so this type of disappointment does not surprise me, what is striking is the short time that elapsed between one visit and another. There was a delay that I did not understand, there were not many diners at that time and, in addition, the grilled chickens had been ready for a while.

Pero, para nuestra decepción, sirvieron un pollo frío, seco, desabrido y quemado en algunas partes. El buen rato que pensamos pasar acá resultó en frustración porque habíamos planificado realizar un pronta reunión familiar en esta Feria de Comida, con el consuelo de que este inconveniente nos ocurrió a nosotros dos en este momento y no delante de nuestros invitados.

But, to our disappointment, they served chicken that was cold, dry, tasteless and burnt in some parts. The good time we thought we would spend here turned out to be a frustration because we had planned to have an early family reunion at this Food Fair, with the consolation that this inconvenience happened to the two of us at this moment and not in front of our guests.

Así que nuestro aniversario nos dejó esta anécdota y nos sirvió de escarmiento. Durante el lapso que hemos visitado locales comerciales para planificar la reunión familiar, nos hemos llevado varios reveses por distintas razones, esta vez, fue la demora, la presentación de la comida y la obligatoriedad del refresco. En otras los precios, con el dólar a como lo quieran cobrar, ha sido otra señal de alerta y hasta nos topamos con sitios donde cada persona debe consumir un mínimo de 10 dólares solamente por entrar o no venden un pollo completo sino por partes.

So our anniversary left us with this anecdote and served as a lesson. During the time that we have visited commercial establishments to plan the family reunion, we have had several setbacks for different reasons, this time, it was the delay, the presentation of the food and the obligatory soda. In others, the prices, with the dollar at whatever price they want to charge, has been another warning sign and we even came across places where each person must consume a minimum of 10 dollars just to get in or they do not sell a whole chicken but only in parts.
