Every September 24th is a very special date for our family, because it is my father's birthday. A wonderful man who has been an example of good manners and an unconditional support for me, my mother and now for little Alma, who has become his spoiled brat, her eyes light up when she hears him say grandfather.
Celebrating a birthday goes far beyond buying a cake or some gifts, it is an opportunity to show genuine affection for those we care about, an opportunity to reaffirm, through gestures and actions, how important it is for the family.
I left home early with the idea of surprising my dad when he came to visit little Alma, I thought of buying a small cake to celebrate the birthday with the family. But when I was looking for the ideal dessert, I received a call and it was my father, telling me that he was at home and was waiting for me with cake and soda.
Faced with such a message, I opted to prepare some sandwiches for the occasion, it was the best thing I could think of for the time. I decided not to bring ready-made food because the last time I had a craving for pizza, I spent almost an hour waiting for my order, which I could not afford at this time because I would arrive at night and I would not have time to share with him, which is what I consider essential.
At home we started to prepare the meal as a family, taking advantage of the moment to express our affection and thank my dad for everything he has done for me and has instilled in me throughout my life. I hope that God grants him a lot of health so he can continue to enjoy the child's antics and continue to accompany me in this experience as a mother.
The cake ceremony was quick, Alma didn't let the candle burn for too long, so we only sang a piece of Happy Birthday. It was fun to see her blow out the candle four times, her happiness cheered us all up.

Pero cuando estaba en la búsqueda del postre ideal, recibí una llamada y justamente era mi padre, comunicándome que estaba en la casa y allí me esperaba con torta y refresco.
Ante tal mensaje, opté por preparar unos sandwiches para la ocasión, fue lo mejor que se me pudo ocurrir por la hora. Decidí no llevar comida hecha porque la última vez que me antojé de pizza, permanecí casi una hora esperando mi pedido, lo que no pude permitirme en este momento porque llegaría de noche y no tendría tiempo para compartir con él que es lo que considero primordial.
Ya en casa nos pusimos a preparar la comida en familia, aprovechando el momento para exteriorizar afectos y agradecerle a mi papá por todo lo que ha hecho por mí y me ha inculcado a lo largo de la vida. Espero que Dios le conceda mucha salud para que pueda seguir disfrutando de las travesuras de la niña y me siga acompañando en esta experiencia como madre.
La ceremonia de la torta fue rápida, Alma no dejó que la vela estuviera mucho tiempo encendida, así que solamente cantamos un fragmento del Cumpleaños Feliz. Fue muy divertido verla apagar la vela cuatro veces, su felicidad nos alegró a todos.
