Greetings to everyone in this lovely Family and friends Community! I hope you are all happy and spending quality time with your family. I’m excited to share our special story.
After so many years of being apart, our family on my mother’s side finally had our first family reunion. To be honest, it’s something we never really planned before because everyone lives far away. Some of my mother’s siblings are in Luzon, Other in Visayas, and we are here in Mindanao. He only times we used to see each other were during wedding or sadly, when someone passed away. That’s why this reunion meant so much. It was my late uncle’s wish before he left, to see the family come together again.

At first, we didn’t know if everyone could make it. But when the date was set, we could really feel the excitement. Everyone started pledging help, giving donations and volunteering to sponsor food and other things. It was so touching to see how willing everyone was to make this reunion happen. We even hired people to cook and wash the dishes, so we could all focus on what really mattered, spending time together, laughing and sharing stories we’ve missed for so long.

We shared the reunion with a Holy Mass to thanks God for all the blessings for keeping everyone safe, and for giving us this chance to be together again. Then, each family introduced themselves. I couldn’t help but smile while looking around, there were so many children and grandchildren now. Some families have grown so big, and others remained small. But one thing is everyone was genuinely happy to be there.

On mother’s die, there’s no issue among her siblings because my late grandparents made everything clear and fair, they equally divided all their properties before passing, so their peace, understanding and no raising for conflict. Truly, good parenting lasts forever.
That moment made me realize something deep. Life moves fast and people get busy with their own lives. But at the end of the day, family is still family. No matter the distance or the years that pass, the bond remains It’s not about how often we see each other, its about the love that stays even when we’re apart.
I also realized that reunions like this are not just about eating or taking pictures. They’re about remembering where we came from, honoring those who came before us and strengthening the connection that keeps us together as one family.

Next year, it’s our turn to host the reunion and I’m already excited. Because now, I understand how important it is to celebrate family while we still can.
Family will always be our greatest treasure. No matter how far life takes us. It’s the people we call family who give us a sense of home.

Thank you for reading my story. This is my own picture from our reunion, edited in Canva and shared from the heart. Family is our forever home, where love, memories and togetherness will ways bring us back. Have a nice day everyone! 😍
