I am overjoyed knowing that even though I’m in a different country, I have these lovely people whom I call my second family.💖

Hi Dear Hivers and readers! I’m happy to share this story from the other side of the world. So sit back, relax, and let me take you through this wonderful day.
I visited my boyfriend in Lindau, Germany, and stayed here for three months. It was a mix of emotions for me since it was my first time being miles away from my family — and also my first trip to Europe! However, despite those feelings, what mattered most was that I was with the person I always choose to be with, wherever we go.
We arrived in Germany on a beautiful Monday morning, June 16, 2024. The moment I stepped out of the airplane and into the airport, my boyfriend warmly held my hand and welcomed me to Europe! I had the biggest smile on my face — a moment I’ll never forget.
We took a train and stopped at one station to pick up his car before driving home. It was about a two- to three-hour drive filled with overwhelming joy. We played music, sang along, and couldn’t stop smiling. I could feel the cold breeze on my skin, the fresh air, and see the beautiful views along the way. I still couldn’t believe we made it — and that I was finally about to meet his family.

We finally arrived at their lovely home. My heart was beating fast, but as soon as I got out of the car and looked around, I started to calm down. Their place was so pretty and peaceful. We took our things out of the car, and as we walked toward the house, his mom came to greet us with a warm hug.😍 In that moment, I felt so safe — she had such a light and welcoming vibe. Soon after, I also met his dad and, of course, their adorable cat, Kiwi.

We all gathered on the balcony and had a meal together. His mom cooked the famous Kartoffel Salat and Schnitzel — and I must say, they tasted absolutely delicious! We enjoyed chatting after the meal, and later, we finally took some time to rest after the long flight. Then, my boyfriend planned a welcome party for me. It’s called a barbecue party! The day of this event, I also met his eldest brother and his girlfriend. They’re so nice too. I am glad I have this kind of family.

It was a lovely afternoon when friends started arriving one by one. In front of their house, there’s a cozy area where visitors can stay and chill. I met everyone, and we were all having so much fun.
What made me feel even more special was when they let me tap the beer barrel to open it. Everyone cheered for me, and they even played German music like in a festival! My boyfriend told me that it’s similar to how they celebrate Oktoberfest they always do this before the party officially starts. He prepared this as a special welcome for me, and I felt so touched because it’s something they rarely do for guests.
When the party started, there were beers on the table as I met, talked, and shook hands with his friends. His brother began grilling, and I absolutely loved the food and the cozy vibe of their home party. Later, we played beer pong while others enjoyed their drinks and laughter filled the air.

It was such a fun and unforgettable moment for me. I feel so blessed to have such a sweet and thoughtful boyfriend, a kind family, and to be surrounded by such wonderful friends.
And that’s it for today’s story, my dear readers. I hope you enjoyed reading about the other side of my life.
’Til my next Family and Friends story!
