I must admit was pleasantly surprised the first time I had ostrich meat. I love game birds as they have much more flavour than chicken etc.
They are huge, I have only seen in captivity.
That curio is absolutely gorgeous! I loved the map with the animals and had the elephant where I first encountered in the wild in Gabon!

Ostrich meat I thoroughly enjoy at least once a week. Researched and found a place where one is able to buy an egg for R85 (US$4.5), never seen it in shops this would be a direct purchase from the farm. Vaguely remember the taste was quite good, although the smell not so much...

Would be interesting to try again, who knows....
Makes one think, living in difficult regions why not farms these great birds which sound easier to farm than cattle.
