The vulture, as this species of scavenger vulture is known here in #Cuba, is a bird that many undervalue and despise due to its appearance, as it isn't a particularly attractive bird in terms of beauty.
However, I often stop to observe and appreciate them because the natural healing work they do is invaluable.
On the other hand, the way they fly and glide is studied by many of us who love paragliding. Their ability to stay in the air by taking advantage of air currents and pressure gaps is extremely interesting.
These birds are difficult to capture because they don't allow humans to get close enough to them. But here I managed to capture images of one that was in a garbage dump near my house. Look at the way it arranges its wings in flight. Doesn't that make you curious?
Anyway...

Las auras tiñosas, como se les conoce acá en #Cuba a esta especie de buitre carroñero, son aves que muchos subvaloran y desprecian por el aspecto que tienen al no resultar un ave notablemente atractiva en su belleza.
Sin embargo, muchas veces sí me detengo a observarlas y valorarla porque el trabajo de saneamiento natural que realizan es invaluable.
Por otro lado, la manera en que ellas vuelan y planean es estudiada por muchos de los que amamos la práctica del parapente. Su modo de lograr sostenerse en el aire aprovechando las corrientes de aire y los vacíos de presión es interesantísimo.
Estas aves son difíciles de capturar pues no permiten que el ser humano se les acerque lo suficiente. Pero acá logré capturar imágenes de una que estaba en una basurero cerca de mi casa. Vean el modo en que dispone sus alas en vuelo. ¿No les despierta curiosidad pensar en ello?
En fin...
