This is the latest version of the woodpecker that I have never seen before. The color is very beautiful, similar to a natural batik motif. There are many moss green and brownish orange woodpeckers here with their distinctive bright red crests.

        This is one of 5 different species of woodpeckers that I see fairly regularly at my feeders or in my yard. Most of them stay here all winter.
