What an encounter, not one, but two woodpeckers. 🙂
It is impressive how they can strip the bark of the tree for no time.
Lovely shots, always a pleasure to see your pictures of the Pileated woody.

        Thanks Neli, it sure was a cool experience, one that I hope happens again shortly. You should see some of the trees that these beautiful birds peck at, leaving a pile of small scraps of the tree all around the base of the tree.
