RE: Entry #smap 247: Dimorphism / Dimorfismo

Very interesting, these observations about the birds you show here. I didn’t know that the female Gundlach's hawk was larger. Such lovely photos, I’m almost certain that many of them you captured from the rooftop of your house.

I have the idea of creating a little spot like that here; let’s see how I manage it. And I wish you success in reaching that goal of seeing the Wood Duck in the wild. 😀

Thank you so much, @nanixxx, for stopping by and for your valuable advice. Yes, that's right. That size difference is quite common among birds of prey. There's so much to say about them. The photos aren't from my hideouts near home; almost all of them were taken during Cuba Big Year 2024, in various provinces and towns. Magnificent places for photography, like the "El Cafetal" Restaurant, Las Terrazas, Adrián and Ana's house in the Zapata Swamp, the National Botanical Garden, El Rincón, and Gibara.

I'll help you create your own little corner. You don't need much, just start, and I assure you great joy. As for the Huyuyo duck, that's another story. For that, I'll have to go all the way to the center of the country with a friend who has them located… a sabbatical year, that's what I need.
