(Black and white Warbler / Bijirita Trepadora)

Hello, friends, how are you doing, greetings from Havana, Cuba.

It turns out that among the birds that visit our island in winter there is one that has captivated me. They call it by several names, but "Bijirita Trepadora" fits it like a glove. Photographing these little ones is no easy task: they are always moving, restless, jumping from one place to another. The special thing about this species is that it loves to climb the trunks in search of food, and that's where the challenge gets interesting.

So, with a lot of patience and a few good attempts, I managed to capture some images of this beauty. Here I share with you this series of photos, hoping you enjoy as much as I did taking them. Here we go!

Many fail in the attempt to approach them, the technique is to approach the tree cautiously and wait for them to walk along the trunk looking for their food, in this way we will have the opportunity to photograph them.

For some unknown reason, when these birds first arrive in Cuba they sing a lot, but after a few days they stop doing it, this one apparently had just arrived because it did not stop singing.

Hive Power Up Day - December 1st 2024

Those little feet are really strong, and the bird is likely very light. You captured it at the right moment. Nice!
