This group of king penguins was out for a walk, and it was neat to see them up close. This is a guided walk that the zookeepers take these birds on when the conditions are right for it. They reminded me of a group of toddlers out there shuffling along, enjoying the day. They will let the penguins decide if they want to walk when the time comes, and more often than not the colony will want to go for a stroll.
