Duck is one of the domesticated birds in our village. Most of the women especially in the rural areas take care of them through which they can be economically self-sufficient and they can support the family well financially. However, we can see a few species of native ducks here. Especially when I go to our village road, I often see different kinds of ducks on the road or on the high places along the road where the hearts are located, which usually rest there for some time and stay together in groups.
A few days ago when I was walking along the road with my daughter I came across these ducks where many ducks were staying together and resting. The ducks are mainly native ducks and they are reared by most of the women in our village. We can see several species and colors of ducks here. They look very nice. However I loved seeing so many ducks together where the ducks were walking amongst themselves and making noises. By rearing these ducks in particular, women can support their families financially as well as meet the family's egg and meat needs. Especially our many women here are becoming economically independent by nurturing them.
