Hello to all #featheredfriend lovers from around the globe.
Time to use our imaginations once again for this week's #smap contest. Our theme, provided by @nelinoeva is "birds in art". Nice topic I thought, an interesting and fun change up from our usual themes.
Here's what I came up with
This tiny piece of artwork was a favorite of my mother's. She bought it in 1978, I remember the date well because it was the year my first son arrived. I would see it in her curio cabinet along with other little treasures. The swan's head and tail are brass, the body cut glass, giving it the appearance of jewels as it sits on a round mirror.
Depending on the light, this tiny little guy can show off his exquisite craftsmanship in many different ways. It is quite detailed, right down to his long neck, face, and tail, all done in brass.
Placing the swan on different surfaces can also change his appearance dramatically.
As I write this description, I keep going back to the word tiny. As you can see, he is just over two inches wide, amazing to me how so much detail went into this little gem.
This lovely trinket now lives with me, and I know my mom smiles down from heaven each time I admire this tiny, bejeweled swan.
I hope you enjoyed seeing the swan and felt the love radiate from its sparkle.
Thanks to @barbara-orenya, @sagarkothari88, @melinda010100, @nelinoeva and all who support the #featheredfriends community.
Best wishes to all as we continue our journey together.
Peace, love and #birds
