The forest service here does do prescribed burns to try to stay ahead but there is just so much open land it's hard to keep up. Plus we are now cutting back resources so not sure things will get much better on that front.

With the majority of wildfires human caused there is definitely a lack of understanding of how quickly fire can spread and the things you need to do to prevent fires.
