Spinning Under New Moon

Acutely aware of movement above experiencing strange affects we encounter, early in month 4th June we experienced two tornado rip through our Province. Birds and animals always know when something is not as it should be, watch the birds flying not knowing what was about to happen.

Inland tornado never affected peoples homes. Coastal path was devastating starting Umgababa close to us, moving out to sea, landfall entry Ballito on the Dolphin Coast, wrecked havoc through Tongaat where it is now reported eleven lost their lives, these storms are not common, but do happen.

New moon on 6th June offered a night for star gazing or planet stalking. Next major event on the calendar in South Africa is election results starting to be revealed, another whirlpool we will have to wait to see how the dust settles, will rely on 100 days magic number.

20th June we will dance under the sky with our shortest day of the year with winter solstice, two days later it's full moon once again, Northern Hemisphere refer to as the Strawberry moon, silver shiny up above signals change to all who live.

Betwixt and between disruptions caused by weather, one enjoys cooler months, berries, flowers are prominent wherever you look it's a feast for the eyes!

Some birds have become regular visitors others arrive in droves finding food, sometimes a little chilly when snow falls inland on the mountain peaks, sunshine with blue skies is our normal during the dry season with little rain. Those who venture into the bush can see animals without the heavy humidity, thick greenery obscuring view, it is always green being sub-tropical.

Should you wish to escape cold winters, Durban is a place to visit, with many options on offer, one we boast about is curry, or fresh fish dished up with tasty zest for those who simply want to chill and enjoy relaxing on a beach or in the bush.

At sea month of receiving, Sardine Run that attracts visitors to experience this amazing sight. On land Kleptocrats jockying for positions in parliament with major change happening after elections, we wait with baited breath now possibly able to build this country together. While waiting, enjoy open fire cooking, be grateful for what we have!

It is amazing how the birds seem to know when something is about to happen, a gift they have which we humans don't.

The moon have been beautiful to watch in the sky, I have played around with my camera taking photos of it lol.

Always enjoy your shots 📷 at the birds.

Enjoy the rest of June as it wraps up.

Animals will always let you know change in weather, even Woody becomes a chameleon with wind and rain, then turns to rock if its thunder down the coast. !LOLZ

The recent tornadoes were a stark reminder of nature's power. Really looking forward to the solstice and Strawberry moon, certainly a time for reflection and renewal. Great pictures by the way dear friend

Nature is incredible, scary sometimes, yet always beautiful in it's own design. Moon looked great last night early evening then we had rain out of nowhere, weather has a mind of it's own. Thanks for visiting and kind comment.

You're so right weather does have a mind of it's own, I thought it was going to rain yesterday but it didn't... It chooses when and how hehehe

In Africa we never complain about rain living in a dry country.

It's very true that birds and animals get to know the environment better, when something is going to happen. Good to hear all are safe from Tornado. And the variety pictures posted are just amazing.

Thanks for comment and visiting, yes life carries on, our town is safe, people on the next hill not so much, all will assist each other as is always done.

Enjoy that good weather, and I wish the outcome of the lessons will be for the best. We all need a quiet life.I hope the tornado didn't cause much damage to the flora and fauna there. Greetings my dear.🤗🥰

Flora and fauna will recover if affected, mainly human settlements that were devastated, nature takes it's own path not fussy where it goes.

Happy Solstice in your region today.

I hope the storm had less damage in the area.😊

Tongaat experienced massive damage to the town, people now building once again, it has been declared a disaster area so hopefully some help from Government although never relied upon.

I hope the government heard the request of the people. 😊

Really hope so too!

good afternoon dear friend @joanstewart
People have a lot to learn from birds and animals, they have sensors that can predict things that may happen long before alerts, I am very sorry for the lives lost due to the tornadoes in Tongaat
Beautiful photographs.

Birds and dogs will alert you to inclement weather.

Tongaat loss of lives, following hardship they have gone through of late (riots, no water/electricity) makes on realize how very quickly more can arrive we not aware of.

That tornado certainly travelled far, it must have been terrifying.
The birds and animals feel or hear stuff happening in nature, long before us, quite amazing!
Durban Tourism's slogan says Durban is the best place to be in winter, is absolutely 100% correct!
The garden almost seems to have more colour this time of the year as well.

I watched a little of the inauguration of the president, so much pomp and ceremony! I just pray that this Government of National Unity is a success and that the newly formed MK party is not going to act irresponsibly and incite riots like they did a couple of years ago!
Enjoy the gorgeous sunny days Joan, truly a perfect time of the year with cool to chilly nights, perfect sleeping weather!

Panorama Park in Illovo Beach it appeared to have gone up one road destroying homes in it's wake. Umgababa touched down slightly hitting some homes, thankfully not many, a community battling already.

Did not have time nor inclination watching inauguration yesterday, simply too busy... Wait and watch, keep ears and eyes open as always Zulu people are very traditional and tend to follow what their leaders tell them.

Weather is absolutely perfect for me at this time of year, happy winter solstice shortest day of the year!

Gosh, that's bad!
I was visiting family, and popped in to see my brother's Mom-in-law who was sitting watching it, not my cup of tea!

Yes, unfortunately, that is the case, blindly following the leaders despite their wrongdoings.

Suddenly chilly here, maybe reminding us about winter solstice!

Warmer weather again tomorrow for those you feel the chill. 😄

Tornadoes don't form very often in the Czech Republic, but there have already been several. They did a lot of damage to people's property. It happened in a flat landscape where there are large fields and few natural obstacles to the path of the tornado.

I wish you that the many years of chaos will stop with the new leadership of your country. I hope that the solstice will be a turning point towards peace and stability.

Forty plus years on the coast never seen one, had mild earthquakes, flooding and riots, never a tornado.

New government we are hoping will form into a stronger country toward peace and prosperity. Last twenty years have been exceptionally destructive, ended off with covid-19 another hoax to face, thankfully many citizens refused their offerings, cautious of white mans strange medication, can't blame them....

Man interferes too much with the natural cycle of nature. Then it is no wonder that tornadoes appear in places where they have never been.

Your country finally deserves peace. I'm crossing my fingers that it works out.

We not doing farming as in previous years, you need nature to heal land using cattle and chickens, not chemicals all the time. Forcing rain which happened in Dubai is playing with the devil, too clever!

If people work together much could change.

I was referring to deforestation and the creation of huge flat areas of fields. And also the construction of high-rise buildings that completely confuse the natural wind directions.
In Dubai they "played" with something they were not prepared for. It is one thing to "sprinkle" the clouds with silver salt over the fields, and another thing in a populated area that does not have infrastructure for water drainage.

I hope that the people of your country have the desire and will to cooperate.

Stealing few green spaces we have is something that gets my blood boiling, buildings with paving are not helping the situation at all, part of our flooding disasters over the years.

Never mess with nature, respect it, cyclical change rains do arrive normally, years of lean and years of plenty has been around a long time.

I hope that the people of your country have the desire and will to cooperate.

We really hopeful this path will be the right one for now.

Profitability is a horrible human trait. Someone is "chasing" profit and someone else is spending huge resources to repair the damage to the environment.

I wish you peace and prosperity in your country as the days lengthen.

Good management is needed, understanding more about what we have. Years ago I watched this and found it a wonderful resource to share to those interested Nature is Speaking

I think I would enjoy Durban very much if I ever visit.

We have the elections in a month here. Let's hope for a better future for all of us, here, there, and everywhere that need a change.

Cheers! 🤗🌱

Stay away from social media more fake news than ever, have to do own research and vote what you feel will bring about a better future, good luck!

Durban really is an amazing place to visit between May and July normally best months!
