Hello friends, a big hello in this new week of the @silverbloggers Chronicles, which is good for going into the book of "Memories and Knowledge" that we will soon have in this community.

What's A Moment in History I Witnessed (And How I Felt)?

We Silver Bloggers have many stories to tell, and today I want to tell you about four events that left their mark on me.

First: The Death of Lady Di.

The Princess of Wales was known worldwide for the tenderness she conveyed on screen. The world witnessed her every step, from her engagement to Prince Charles, to her spectacular wedding televised worldwide, to the birth of her children, to the sorrows of her marriage, and until her death.

I remember when I woke up and turned on the television, all I could see was the terrible news. I was stunned when I saw what was being broadcast. I remember feeling very sad about the news, and then I felt so angry at Prince Charles for everything she went through, as their entire relationship was publicized step by step due to her infidelity.

I used to think that aristocratic people didn't suffer from these kinds of events, but I realized that they're not invincible just because they have money or fame; on the contrary, they're more vulnerable because of it.

Second: The Death of Michael Jackson.

I received this news from a phone call from my sister, a fan of the singer. Of course, I'm a fan too, and I immediately turned on the television and looked up CNN to see the full report. I remember they were at the hospital. There were a lot of people outside waiting for news, but the news wasn't encouraging.

I saw the entire wake. Many people from the arts came to view her body. Her family was there, and her sister, Yaneth Jackson, was crying a lot. I felt so sad because she was a person who was attacked by everyone. She had an incomparable voice, her dancing was unparalleled; not even her dancers have been able to surpass her way of reaching people through dance.

Third: The Death of Hugo Rafael Chávez Frías.

My country already has its history enshrined in the history books that future children will read in school. This President's death was shrouded in mystery and secrecy surrounding his health, so much so that he said goodbye in a television broadcast that lasted about four hours and asked us to accept Nicolás Maduro as the new President because he had to undergo treatment in Cuba for his cancer, which was already metastasizing. He already imagined he would never return.

He left for Cuba in December, and news of his death broke in March. His health status was kept secret for months. I remember working at a beauty salon in a famous shopping mall, and we all saw the news. It was a feeling of both sadness and joy. Sadness because a death is always unfortunate, and joy because we thought we would finally escape the dictatorship that had been in place since the beginning of his term. But the truth is that Hugo Chávez's dictatorship was gentler than the one that would follow his death.

Fourth: The Pandemic

When they announced the pandemic, I had no idea of the extent of the situation. I confess I didn't believe it at first; I thought it wasn't as serious as they had announced. I was in Colombia with almost my entire family. When they started requiring us to wear face masks, and I saw that everywhere we went we had to disinfect our hands and shoes with alcohol, I thought they were exaggerating.

It was only when I started hearing news of acquaintances and distant relatives who had been included in the death lists that my understanding began to tell me that it was real and that we should be careful, and then I felt afraid.

Thank you very much for your support.

Very well, I'll get right on correcting this. Thank you very much.

Okay friends, changes made. Thank you so much for the feedback. Sometimes we make mistakes due to lack of knowledge, but you're always there to help us, thank you for that.

I wasn’t born at the time of Lady Di’s death but when I read history, and discovered the gruesome manner of her death, I was touched to the bones. I still don’t believe that accident wasn’t orchestrated by someone. But it is what it is.

As for Michael Jackson, I am not a big fan but his songs are nice. Also, there are several tales people tell concerning the cause of his death. I take them as rumors but learning you were around the time of his death, do me the honor by telling me: what really caused his death?

Michael Jackson's life was marked by much controversy. His death was a heart attack, reportedly caused by a sedative he was taking to help him sleep. I hope this information is helpful, and thanks for stopping by and reading my blog.

Yes, it’s very helpful. Thank you so much

You are welcome.
