Hello everyone, very good morning. Going through some boxes with magazines, I came across these copies of Reader's Digest Selections magazine, which I had saved. One is mine and dates from 15 years ago, I bought it in 2010, I guess because some article caught my attention, and the other was from the collection of my aunt (Deceased), and I don't know where all the others I remember that there were many, because she bought it periodically. I may have brought this one with me at some reading time and never returned it to her, but I love to have it as a souvenir.

My aunt was a retired teacher, she was absent from the classroom to devote herself to her home and family, and become the matriarch. With her we learned and cultivated the beautiful art of reading, as she was an avid reader. She not only collected Selecciones magazine, but also the works of the writer Agatha Christie. She also wrote beautiful poems. When she finished reading that week's Selecciones magazine, I would ask her for it and park myself in my favorite sections; La risa remedio infalible and Gajes del oficio.

Selecciones magazine is characterized by having many sections of different categories, personal, health, current affairs, family, psychology, etc... but it has fixed segments such as “La risa remedio infalible”, where they offer jokes and humorous stories, and “Gajes del oficio”, where they narrate anecdotes with complex situations told by their protagonists.

On this occasion, I was pleased to have in my hands three very distant generations of this famous magazine; the first, dating from the beginning of the last century and belonging to my grandfather, I think it is one of the first editions of Reader's Digest Selections, and brings together several interesting stories; the second, my aunt's, dating from the 70s, specifically 1977, has much valuable information and is characterized by having more text than images, and even has his signature on the cover; and the last, mine, dating from 2010, with more colorful photos and more illustrations than text.

There is a very remarkable difference between these three generations of Selecciones magazine, and I don't know if it is still being distributed, but I love to be able to keep these three copies of such a valuable work where the first one is more than a century old.

Hola a todos, muy buenos días. Revisando algunas cajas con revistas, me encontré con estos ejemplares de la revista Selecciones de Reader's Digest, que había guardado. Una, es mía y data de hace 15 años, la compré en el 2010, supongo que porque me llamó la atención algún artículo, y la otra era de la colección de mi tía (QEPD), y que no sé dónde habrán quedado todas las demás que recuerdo que eran muchísimas, porque ella la compraba periódicamente. Quizás me traje ésta en algún momento de lectura y nunca se la regresé, pero me encanta tenerla como recuerdo.

Mi tía era docente retirada, se ausentó de las aulas para dedicarse a su hogar y su familia, y convertirse en la matriarca. Con ella aprendimos y cultivamos el hermoso arte de la lectura, ya que era una ávida lectora. No sólo coleccionaba la revista Selecciones, sino las obras de la escritora Agatha Christie. También escribía hermosos poemas. Cuando ella terminaba de leer la revista Selecciones de esa semana, yo se la pedía y me estacionaba en mis secciones favoritas; La risa remedio infalible y Gajes del oficio.

La revista Selecciones se caracteriza por tener muchas secciones de diferentes categorías, temas personales, de salud, actualidad, familia, psicología, etc... pero tiene segmentos fijos como "La risa remedio infalible", donde ofrecen chistes y relatos jocosos, y “Gajes del oficio”, donde narran anécdotas con situaciones complejas contadas por sus protagonistas.

En esta oportunidad, me dio gusto tener en mis manos tres generaciones muy distantes de esta famosa revista; la primera, data de principios del siglo pasado y pertenecía a mi abuelo, creo que es una de las primeras ediciones de las Selecciones de Reader's Digest, y reúne varias historias interesantes; la segunda, la de mi tía que data de los años 70, específicamente el año 1977, posee mucha información valiosa y se caracteriza por tener más textos que imágenes, y hasta posee su firma en la portada; y la última, la mía, que data del año 2010, con fotos más coloridas y más ilustraciones que textos.

Existe una diferencia muy destacada entre estas tres generaciones de la revista Selecciones, y la que desconozco si aún se sigue distribuyendo, pero me encanta poder conservar estos tres ejemplares de una obra tan valiosa donde la primera posee más de un siglo.
