Recently, I saw news about a large-scale protest taking place at City Hall Park in New York, and the park looked incredibly familiar. After digging through my old photos, I realized that I had actually visited it during my time in New York! Personally, I think it’s a great spot to check out, especially since City Hall Park is located right next to the Brooklyn Bridge. If you happen to have some extra time after walking the bridge, I highly recommend stopping by. Don’t overlook this beautiful park just because it’s not as famous!

Funny enough, my visit to City Hall Park was completely unplanned. Initially, I was just revisiting the Brooklyn Bridge. After crossing it, I became curious about the architecture of New York City Hall and started snapping tons of photos of the building. I wanted to go inside for a closer look, but I found out that entry requires a reservation. Just as I was about to give up, I suddenly noticed a beautiful park nearby and ended up wandering in without much thought.

City Hall Park is completely free to enter, and inside, you’ll come across a statue of Horace Greeley. A quick search told me that he was the founder of the New York Tribune and an influential figure in New York’s political scene. Seeing a statue honoring such a historical figure nestled within this beautiful park gave the place a unique charm.

I visited in December, and the ground was covered in fallen leaves, scattered casually around the park. Combined with the surrounding historic buildings of City Hall, the entire scene was breathtaking. Even the people walking through the park seemed to carry a touch of romance in the crisp winter air.

Sitting on the park benches, I also noticed office workers in suits enjoying their lunch breaks. I couldn’t help but envy them—having such a scenic park to escape to must be a great way to relieve work stress. I imagine that taking a stroll here after a long day would be incredibly refreshing.

As I left, the sun was beginning to set, casting a warm glow over City Hall Park. The golden-hour light made everything even more picturesque, adding a deeper sense of romance to the scenery. Being able to capture such a beautiful moment in photos made me feel truly lucky.
