It's so sad to see these old pubs in this state. It feels like that entire page of history is fading so fast. I see a lot of Brits on X lamenting about how much fun it was to hang out in these places in the 80's and 90's.

I did this, but can't remember the fun part. I have never been a big drinker, that's why.
It's good that you managed to dodge the drinking phase. I was never a heavy drinker but did enjoy the occasional "one too many".
