That sauce bottle made me curious. You're right, Heinz Ideal Sauce was a competitor of HP Sauce. Apparently the UK has a history of various 'brown sauce' brands, originally created to 'improve the taste' of stale meat. Source: https://letslookagain.com/2015/02/a-history-of-english-brown-sauce/

        LOL, that article mentions Daddies Sauce, I remember it when I was young but don't see it now. Stale meat... 😃.., I still douse the stuff on my steaks, I guess they are not tasty enough anymore. 😃
