Sometimes I say that every day there is some kind of global celebration, whether it be related to health, learning, or something else.
Due to my lack of knowledge about global celebrations, I miss many of them. The most important ones were always national holidays, which are celebrated in education, history, art, literature, and religion.
Two months ago, I started practicing yoga. It has been interesting to be part of the group I joined. In addition to flexibility and balance, it offers opportunities for well-being. The instructor advertised the activity held on May 28, which was an open invitation to participate in a free event to celebrate this day.
A little history is good.

Under the name World Challenge Day, this activity began in 1983 in the city of Saskatoon, Canada. The intention at that time was to encourage citizens to walk at least 15 minutes a day to promote physical activity and save energy, as the region was experiencing extreme cold at the time. In 1994, this movement spread to other countries around the world and began to be celebrated on the last Wednesday of every May.
The countries that stand out on this day are Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Peru, and Venezuela.
This year's slogan is “30 Years in Motion.” In Venezuela and other countries, it was promoted as World Challenge Day to encourage healthy habits through regular physical activity and sports, with the aim of improving people's quality of life and well-being.

The city of El Tigre, Anzoátegui state, Venezuela, participated in this movement through the sports institute and the Simón Rodríguez Municipal Council, inviting all groups in the area involved in different disciplines such as yoga, functional training, and cardio to participate in an activity open to anyone who wanted to join in. This activity was planned in different areas or parks of the city, wherever interested people wanted to participate.
I joined the group assigned to Andrés Bello Park Peñalver Avenue with different instructors in various disciplines. It was a time to socialize with other groups and learn about the different types of activities they do. There was a mix of each of them adapted to age, and between music and movement, this challenge was achieved.
I am proud to have participated, shared, and socialized with other people who pursue well-being and quality of life.
