Was it really a break, or did I just join the world’s longest writer’s slumber party?
I’ve been quiet for a while. Not completely silent anyway, I’ve shared a few movie reviews here and there - but honestly, I hit a wall. Life (okay, school) got in the way. But I’m proud to say I’m now officially a Bachelor of Arts degree holder. I still have some clearance paperwork to finish and a final project to defend, but at least I’m done with lectures and the constant mental stress of undergrad life. By the end of this year, I’ll be wrapping up everything about earning that first degree, and I couldn’t be more grateful for how far I’ve come.
It wasn’t easy. I even thought of giving up at one point, but I stumbled on a motivational piece on Pinterest that reminded me how far I’d already come. That small moment of encouragement helped me push through.
Honestly? The mental stress didn’t just come from school. Writing itself started to feel forced. I felt like no one was really reading, and I know I’ve let engagement slip here. I plan to fix that.
But here’s the thing: I miss it. I miss the words, the honesty, the conversations, the chance to connect and make new friends. So I’m coming back but on my own terms.
I want this blog to be less about “perfect posts” and more about real talk. I want to write even when it’s messy. I want to share what inspires me, what scares me, what keeps me going. Mostly, that means movie and book reviews, because I love sharing my thoughts on whatever I watch or read. But there’ll be some fiction, too.
Over the next few weeks, I’ll be posting more regularly. I’d love for you to join me.
If you’ve been here a while, thank you. If you’re new, welcome. Let’s see where this goes. I hope I find the inspiration I need to keep going, and I hope you’ll come along for the ride.
