It’s important and very but not compulsory
As man and woman, we need each other not just for sex but by supporting each other
I watched a movie, a guy so much dislikes marriage but has a maid. Unfortunately, he had an accident which resulted to his maid having to take care of him 100%.
Now, his friends are him realize that if he had gotten married, his wife would even do more than that. It’s just the best thing to marry the right person.

marriage doesn't guarantee that your partner would stand by you when things go messy, why do people divorce?
some wives could divorce or leave their marriage after the accident, so it is not guaranteed....
so not until you marry before you see someone willing to stand by/with you in your tough time
