Well Hello There Fellow Technicians And Hivers!

The Build Up Week!

Well YEAH! What did you expect it to be? Last week was tear down week and this will be the build up week!
We just have to get up and going and get all these vehicles out of our shop, we have to make it happen otherwise we won't have any space left in our shop for new cars, now that would be a problem!

She's Going Home!

Finally! I can finally put the "Subie" back together!

I tore this one down last yea if I'm not mistaken! It's been quite some time since then. What can we do if we have to wait for parts. Nothing better to do than wait and prepare what we can right!

There she is! The hunchbacks of transmissions! Damn this is a ugly build of a box! Keep in mind this is coming from a Subaru Fnatic! I don't have much liking for these CVT transmissions either. Glad they are on the market because they tend to break! Laughs!

Still Beautifull.

Now this one isn't the most beautifull out there and neither has it been taken care off as it should have been! BUT with that said it still gives me some joy to work on it.

The newer Subaru's aren't exactly what I know Subaru to be, it's still Japanese though! That I fancy!

Some Hate But I Don't

Given it can be a hell of a struggle most of the times! Not the general re fitment of the transmission but more so getting the torque converter back into place!

In all my time I've only done two rebuild on these and with both of these transmissions we had the biggest struggle to get those torque converters properly entered! Now I know though, now it wont be a geussing game anymore!

Everything else? A breeze, a breeze I tell you! even aligning the transmission with the studs coming from the engine! It was merely a breeze!

A Thirsty Girl!

This one surprised me! It really did!

We chucked down 12 of these into her tummy! 12 and a bit!

I could not believe it! It's not unrealistic though but we had to cut the motor three time because the pump ran dry, I could not feed it fast enough! That was something I've never had before.

Can you think that just the oil on this job is almost $200 USD!

Until the next post! Stay safe and stay blessed people!

Interesting I did not know that a brand that is characterized by power and speed comes with a cvt system that for my taste isolates a lot of engine torque to driving.

Laughs, it is a bit on the side of lazyness but it drives really nicely and smoothly. Althiugh I do get your point, I wont prefer it at all😅

$200 for oil. This is really costly. I love your hand work weldone

That is really expensive just for oil! Imagine you have to fix somethinf again and then lose out on some oil. Never a good thing.

It just keeps getting more and more expensive.

We dont do rebuilds and very rare have Scoobies at the shop but last year we had to replace the transmission valve body on a Forester if Im not mistaken, did took a good amount of oil, for a four cylinder transmission, Im which we had a mechanic that knows to rebuild transmissions, thats very rare in Panama

I am thinking of buying this specific one, I do quite like the look and feel of it!

Or I'm just in way over my head 😅😅
