I'm surprised to see that Asia Pacific has so many teams that are actually interested in playing baseball. I knew it was popular in Korea and Japan but the others are not something I would associate with baseball at all.

        I think it has expanded out in recent years. It's possible it was always a thing, but just not as visible until the LLWS opened up their doors a bit. I also think the World Baseball Classic probably has opened some eyes to the sport as well.
