Bozz Family Fantasy Football Recap: Week 10
This is just another shot from my nephews basketball game this past weekend. I think I will save the full update on that for tomorrow, but I wanted to use one of the many photos I took anyway.
Many of you might recognize my title quote from the great movie Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby. I know quite a few people who don't really care for Will Ferrel, but I think he is pretty dang funny. Especially in this movie.
Anyway, in my Fantasy Football league, I am most definitely last. There is no getting around it. After another week of competition I am still only sitting at two wins. Meanwhile, @mrsbozz has skyrocketed up to the number 8 position in the league. At this point the best that I can do is support her I think.
I really don't know how things got this bad. It's not like I don't understand the game. I know full well what I am doing. I almost think I like fantasy baseball better at this point. It's a lot more work because you have to adjust your roster pretty much every day, but there are a lot more players available that don't suck. It's just easier I think.
I'm not even tied for last place anymore, I am sitting all alone in that cursed position. I don't even know. As you can see, it was a pretty lopsided victory for my brother in law. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that Chicago had such a rough game on Sunday. My team is more than just a couple Chicago players though, so I can't fully blame it on that.
It's just a bit heartbreaking for me as I try really hard every year to have a good team and I continue to fail. What is that saying about the definition of insanity? The one about expecting a different outcome?
Ah, there it is:
“Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.”
In fact, I just change the name of my team from "Stick a fork in me" to "the definition of insanity".
As you can see from a quick glimpse of the roster, there wasn't a lot to get excited about this week. Allen had a good game and it's best that I played him given the five interceptions that Goff threw. Thomas is a joke and I honestly don't know why I count on him for anything. That's two games in a row under 5 points now.
Downs had a decent game, but I'd like to see that score in the 15 to 20 range. Especially for a wide receiver. The same can be said for Legette, 4 points is just horrible. Granted, I had some byes to deal with this week so some of these were late pick ups, but there are just not that many great players available out there. I think I might have to make some more changes to the roster settings next year. We need less good players taking up spots on rosters.
Conner had a great game at running back and I plan on keeping an eye on him. 17 points is just phenomenal. Swift as I mentioned had a horrible game compared to his past performances. Ferguson was a late add because of a bye and it is safe to say he will be an early drop this week!
From there, everything else just kind of sucked balls quite honestly.
Even my bench was a waste of space this week. As I said, I am already at the point where I am looking towards next season. I think five bench slots might be too many. I am thinking about cutting that down to four, maybe even three. I also know people like the high scores, but having three WR slots might be a mistake. There is a good chance I will cut that back to two next season. I might even cut the running back slots to 1 and then keep the flex position if someone wants two running backs. Everything else I will likely keep the same.
With 12 teams in the league, we need to consider what talent gets locked up and never used on teams. I might get some blow back from the changes, but I think it is the best move for everyone's sanity, especially mine!
