The month of Ramadan is a very significant month for us Muslims. During this month, we try to fast to gain closeness to God. It is not enough to just fast, but to remember God more and do the things He loves.
We fast from sunrise to sunset. During this time, we refrain from consuming water and food. Anyway, today we all ate iftar together as a family.
My wife started preparing the iftar meals from noon. Actually, there are several items to prepare for Iftar, so from noon to evening. Just before dusk, we all sit together with food and wait for the call to prayer. As the sun sets, the call to prayer is given and we begin to eat after reciting prayers.
I try to mix several foods together in a bowl. Then we slowly start eating the foods from that bowl. We really enjoy eating this way and feel satisfied.
Today we had several food items such as chickpea bhaji, apples, dates, bananas, chicken rolls, potato chops, eggplant chops, sorbet, and much more.
My son was very sick for a few days and he wasn't eating. This made me feel very bad as a father, but he is much healthier now. He ate little food today. Overall, I enjoyed today's iftar very much.
