Look how blue the sky is, pretty clear blue sky, Mr. Sunny's really in rage today. And that's after the heavy rain yesterday. But, this is actually the perfect weather to dry some fish. My lil brother requested to Mama that thing called "Daing." He said, he'll bring it back in Lipa and give it as Pasalubong to his friends there. Making it is really easy, and one thing that's needed for it to success is Mr. Sunny's raging heat! And daing is really just a dried fish, Mama seasoned it of course and she even used Vinegar in it.

Si this is the kind of fish Mama used for her Daing, it's called Lagidlid. She asked the seller to remove all the things that needs to be remove and she also aske them to cut it like how a Daing should be. This 1 kilo and she bought it for 160 pesos. And I think the size is just right.
She marinate the fish with salt, pepper, msg, garlic and vinegar. She didn't put a lot of spice, just those I mentioned. She marinated it all night so I am sure that this will taste really really good. And because it is homemade, she can control how salt to put in it. Some Dry Fish is usually salty. But this one, she only put just enough salt in it.

Then this morning, she hang them using a bamboo stick, and look how perfect the timing was. It is so hot, feels like they will dry much faster with how hot here right now.

You know, daing is really good with fried rice. It'll be awesome if the fried rice has some egg and carrots, I can imagine it OMG! And really, making this on your own is so cheap rather than buy in the market. Another thing is, we'll be sure too that our Daing is much safer to eat. I should urge Mama to do this more often rather than buy.

Anyways, later on, Mama moved the Daing in different tray, these needs to be laid on so that every part of the fish will get dry.

And while i'm observing the fish here, Mama and my lil brother are here, enjoying the fresh air. There's a power outage here in our place as of writing this. It's one and half hours already. My phone didn't even get a full charged because of the sudden blackout. This is really just annoying, seriously!

So, here's the look after 7 hours of drying it in the sun. They're kinda hard now too, like a real dried fish. But they want to sun dry it for a week, not sure if they are sure about that, haha. After that for sure, it'll be as hard as rock after a week, lol.
Do you also sun dry a fish in your home? Do you use special spices for it? I'm really curious now. \(^o^)/
