A few days ago I wanted to go try the food at a chicken restaurant near my house, as I wanted to celebrate my new acquisition, my electric bike. My family and I would not have time to eat inside the restaurant so our order would be to go. I still had time to appreciate the place. I like the corporate colors and it reminds me of Mcdonalds, and of course the restaurant's mascot is a chicken.
Hace pocos días quise ir a probar la comida de un restaurante de pollos que está cerca de mi casa, ya que quería celebrar mi nueva adquisición, mi bicicleta eléctrica. Mi familia y yo no tendríamos tiempo para comer dentro del restaurante así que nuestro pedido sería para llevar. Aún sí tuve tiempo de apreciar el lugar. Me gustan los colores corporativos y me recuerdan al Mcdonalds, y como no podía ser de otra forma la mascota del restaurante es un pollo.
The owners are probably Asian, specifically Chinese, firstly because in my country the Chinese community is quite large, and secondly because the decor has many elements of Chinese culture.
Los dueños probablemente sean asiáticos, específicamente chinos, en primer lugar porque en mi país la comunidad china es bastante grande, y en segundo porque la decoración tiene muchos elementos de la cultura china.
Although they only serve chicken in this restaurant (because that is the concept), the menu is very varied and we were presented with several options of chicken broaster and grilled chicken. We opted for the chicken broaster combo number 5 which contained 8 pieces of chicken plus a portion of arepitas and a portion of french fries, plus salad, tartar sauce and a 1.5 liter bottle of soda. All this for 18 dollars.
A pesar de que solo sirven pollo en este restaurante (debido a que ese es el concepto) El menú es muy variado y nos presentan varias opciones de pollo a la broaster y de pollo asado. Nosotros optamos por el combo número 5 de pollo a la broaster que contenía 8 piezas de pollo más una ración de arepitas y una ración de papas fritas, además de ensalada, salsa tártara y una botella de refresco de 1.5 litros. Todo esto por 18 dólares.
There was a sign that caught my attention and I thought I would consider it for another occasion when we have guests, since this promotion brings 2 broaster chickens, 4 servings of salad, 2 servings of fries, 1 and a half liter soda and a serving of 12 arepitas, all for $28.
Había un cartel que llamó mi atención y pensé en considerarla para otra ocasión en que tuviésemos invitados, ya que esta promoción trae 2 pollos a la broaster, 4 raciones de ensalada, 2 raciones de papas fritas, 1 refresco de litro y medio y una ración de 12 arepitas, todo por 28 dólares.
Another thing that pleasantly caught my attention is that the restaurant has several screens that project cooking recipes, which is quite interesting and entertaining while you wait for your order to arrive.
Otra de las cosas que llamó mi atención gratamente es que el restaurante tiene varias pantallas que proyectan recetas de cocina, lo cual resulta bastante interesante y entretenido mientras esperas a que llegue tu orden.
But from here everything started to lose score in my ratings. What you see in the background is a group of employees (waiters probably) who are literally forced to play music and sing for a person who is having a birthday, I say they are forced first because it is more than obvious, if it is part of the policies of the place, and second because I know employees who have done it and have stated that this is not a spontaneous gesture, and obviously this leads to a terribly uncomfortable moment for both employees and the person being entertained, seriously, I do not know about you but that gives me cringe 🤡.
Pero a partir de aquí todo comenzó a perder puntuación en mis calificaciones. Lo que ven al fondo es un grupo de empleados (meseros probablemente) que son literalmente obligados a tocar música y cantar para una persona que está cumpliendo años, digo que son obligados en primer lugar porque es más que evidente, si forma parte de las políticas del lugar, y segundo porque conozco empleados que lo han hecho y han afirmado que eso no es un gesto espontaneo, y obviamente esto deriva en un momento terriblemente incómodo tanto para los empelados como la persona agasajada, en enserio, no sé a ustedes pero a mi eso me da cringe 🤡
Another thing that got me out of sling is that they are misleading with the price, that is, everyone who lives in Venezuela knows that all legally constituted companies must be governed by the official rate of the Central Bank of Venezuela regarding the price of the dollar, otherwise, using the parallel dollar or the so-called “average” is not only illegal, but it is a lack of consideration and an abuse to consumers, but although this establishment is indeed governed by the legal guidelines (the Central Bank of Venezuela) their prices are not subject to dollar (like everywhere else in this country) but to euros How about?
Otra cosa que me sacó de honda es que son engañosos con el precio, es decir, todos los que viven en Venezuela saben que todas las empresas legalmente constituidas deben regirse por la taza oficial del Banco Central de Venezuela en cuanto al precio del dólar, de lo contrario, usar el dólar paralelo o el llamado "promedio" no solo es ilegal, sino que es una falta de consideración y un abuso a los consumidores, pero aunque este establecimiento en efecto se rige por los lineamientos legales (el Banco Central de Venezuela) sus precios no están sujetos a dólar (como en todos lados de este país) sino a euros ¿Qué tal?
I still made the purchase, we went to run some errands and then went home for dinner. The packages are not only beautiful, but they are made of a resistant material that keeps the heat for a long time.
Aún así realicé la compra, nos fuimos a hacer algunas diligencias y posteriormente nos fuimos a cenar a casa. Los empaques no solo son bonitos, sino que están hechos de un material resistente que guarda el calor por mucho tiempo.
I'm not going to deny it, the food was delicious, you could tell that the chicken was fresh (just cooked) unlike other restaurants where you can tell that they reheat the chicken pieces to have them ready to order, although it was a little bland, that is, it lacked a little more salt. However that was just a minor detail (I'll be very honest) when I was about to finish eating I found a chicken lung 🤢 which means that when they depress it they didn't clean it well, this spoiled my experience was completely ruined. I don't understand how they can be so careless in the handling of food, I am a chef and the first thing they tell us in the academy is that we must be extremely careful with this because a bad experience for the diner could be fatal for a restaurant.
No lo voy a negar, la comida estaba deliciosa, se notaba que el pollo estaba fresco (recién cocinado) a diferencia de otros restaurantes donde se nota que recalientan las piezas de pollo para tenerlas listas a la hora de un pedido, aunque estaba un poco soso, es decir, le faltaba un poco de más de sal. No obstante eso fue solo un detalle menor (seré muy sincera) cuando estuve a punto de terminar de comer encontré un pulmón de pollo 🤢 lo que significa que al despresarlo no lo limpiaron bien, esto echó por tierra mi experiencia se arruinara por completo. No entiendo como pueden ser tan descuidado en el manejo de los alimentos, yo soy chef y lo primero que nos dicen en la academia es que debemos ser extremadamente cuidadosos con esto porque una mala experiencia para el comensal podría ser fatal para un restaurante.
