Newton was a genius, and with integrals he made mathematics a leap forward. Integrals today find application in numerous fields: physics, engineering, economics, finance, medicine, computer science, and statistics. I would like to point out, however, that the integral notation we still use today was introduced by Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz.
