How Australia handled it acually scared me when i read about it. That sounded more like a lockdown made by a tyrannical state not a democracy. They hade insanly strict lockdowns with punishments over long time. Canada also have shown that they are willing to go over all sanity of the meanin g of the word democracys principles when stopped that truck demonstration *whatever they demonstrated aginst i didint reall care}
But to stop ur people from showing that they dont like some policies and the state freeze their bank accounts to shut it down is a scary way to control ur people from using their only way of influance except voting. In practise what it means is, if u dont like what they state do, and u use ur only right to show that dislike, they will steal or remove ur access to ur property.
And ofc the politicians and not the people im refrencing. But that the leaders in a our current system can basicly freeze our money or use of services to live if we dont agree with whatever, then we are already in or soon in a a dictatorship. Trudeou is in my view the first dictator in a democracy cuz he used such methods.
