Hi community!

The three doctors validated the medical report sent by FC Barcelona and certified that the German will be out for a minimum of four months.

FC Barcelona has received the go-ahead from LaLiga to register Joan Garcia in lieu of Ter Stegen's injury. The club issued a statement this Wednesday at 9:30 p.m. specifying that the LaLiga Medical Commission has determined that Marc-André ter Stegen's injury meets the "long-term" criteria, which allows Barça to use a percentage of his salary to register Joan Garcia this Thursday.

This is the statement issued by Barça:
"FC Barcelona informs that the LaLiga Medical Committee has determined that player Marc-André ter Stegen's injury meets the long-term criteria established by current regulations.

The Club will proceed tomorrow to formalize the registration of player Joan Garcia immediately," it states.

Consequently, Joan Garcia will be eligible to start for Barça in the league opener this Saturday at Son Moix against Real Mallorca (7:30 p.m.).

The approval comes five days after Barça sent Ter Stegen's medical report to LaLiga, after the German ended up signing his authorization. The Medical Commission took a little longer than usual to issue its verdict—as its members generally make decisions within 24 to 48 hours. In fact, one of its members, Dr. Tomás Fernández Jaén, went to the Ciutat Esportiva de Sant Joan Despí early this morning to examine Marc ter Stegen, accompanied by FC Barcelona's head of medical services, Xavier Corbella. After validating all the information sent by Barça and informing LaLiga and the other two members (Dr. Jordi Ardèvol abstained due to his past at Barça), the Spanish football governing body gave the club the green light to deregister Ter Stgen and register Joan Garcia in his place.
