Thats a wonderfull way to motivate uninterested students and help a long session to pass quickly for the teacher.

We do something similar with our young SEN kids but I use Oxford Learning Tree lower levels to read and then create their own game or write their own 'magic key' adventure using either the characterd from the book or if their level is high enough, create and describe their own. We also let them illustrate them but our kids are very young....and teacher is not exactly an intellectual!
