Leaving school I felt equipped to analyze a poem or balance a chemical equation but utterly unprepared to answer fundamental questions like How do I turn my skills into multiple income streams and How much should I really be saving Where do I even begin with when investing and How do I build something that lasts beyond my next paycheck which is a Sustainable income.
The realization was frustrating honestly It felt like a massive oversight a gaping hole in my preparation for the real world I had to become my own teacher, It meant diving into books podcasts online courses ironically more learning and sometimes making expensive mistakes It meant unlearning the "job is everything" mentality and exploring other ways to create value and get paid for it.
Don't get me wrong the knowledge I gained in school has value like Critical thinking and how to carry out research skills and discipline which are the foundational. But the silence around practical financial empowerment That was a disservice, It left so many of us starting from scratch playing catch-up on the stuff that truly impacts our daily lives and long-term freedom.
